I shared Gadget and I's adventures in the Poconos from this past weekend already... but what you didn't see was all the fun and excitement from the one other family member that went - Snow! And honestly, if you follow this blog, you should have known that Snow was going to make his appearance!
It all started Friday. I took off from work, initially thinking we were going to leave for the Poconos around noon (but it turned into late evening before we left). Since I had most of the day to do whatever - I took Snow in to my job to meet some people... and get him out of the house. Let's recap that shall we... I took off of work - and still went TO work.
Snow thoroughly enjoyed the short trip to my job - especially being able to sit in the front seat!
Then we finally left for the Poconos - we arrived late Friday night and he proceeded to run around like a mad man - he got to see so many people and places, all in one day!!
But on Saturday, he got to go on a nice long walk and roll around in the grass most of the day. (I do have some pretty hilarious video of this too!)
On Sunday, he was worn out most of the day. He relaxed with me on the porch for a while (and got to enjoy some yogurt), and then went off exploring with Gadget's father.
I've never seen the pup so tired before. When we got home (at 4AM!), he barely made it out of the car. He made a slow b-line for the house and waited for us to open the door and went upstairs, right to bed. He was exhausted! I'm so glad he had such a great time.
Also...
Not Snow related... but how cool is this bird that we saw while we were in Forever 21?! He was just chillin' on this guy's shoulder. His name was Willey.

Snow's 2nd Birthday!
Tuesday, June 25, 2013
Mr. Snow is officially a big boy! We got Snow on my husband's birthday and knowing Snow was about 10 weeks when we got him, that puts his birthday in the middle of June. We (and by we I really only mean myself) decided that we were going to celebrate! It's been a week long celebration, really.
Definitely be sure to check out my Instagram for lots of fun videos from this weekend!
Snow got to go on a ton of car rides this week, including several trips to the dog park; he got to go to PetSmart, meet a lot of new people and pups, and pick out a toy; and last but not least, he got a small birthday bash on Sunday!
I bought Snow a kiddie-pool and put a bunch of water balloons in it. It was a bit rainy on Sunday... so it wasn't really hot enough for Snow to get the full effect of the pool. But it's definitely nice to have one at home, since he really loves the one at the dog park.

Gadget was definitely judging me the whole time, but I had fun - and Mr Snow had tons of fun - and that's all that matters.

Happy Birthday Poop-Face!
And for a look back at how he's grown up, I've put together a little collage (hope you enjoy it as much as I do!) :
We didn't invite any other dogs over - it was only Snow, Gadget and myself. I put a birthday ribbon and a hat, and started snapping some photos. I was really surprised that he didn't fight to get the hat off. I put together a birthday "cake" - which was two biscuits with peanut butter in the middle and cream cheese icing on top - and of course, a candle!

Sunday Sumup #11
Sunday, April 14, 2013
I skipped last week's sumup, and almost skipped this week's too. But in a nutshell, honestly, this week was pretty much nothing but me complaining about the heat. It's been awful hot, but this weekend has been wonderful - high 60s, low 70s with some nice breezes.
So, Mr Snow is healing nicely. I was trying to take some photos of him to show my Mom how good he's healing and I got a bunch of derpy photos. On Friday, we saw Snow's brother (who is all white and is muuuuch smaller, but heftier), and on Saturday we met a new 4 month old blue pit puppy in the neighborhood. His name is Zuko and him and Snow were having a blast... and then little Zuko's paws slapped Snow in the eye and his cut opened back up. >sigh< Boys!

The best part of this week was definitely this weekend. My grandparents came to visit! This is the first time they've seen our current place - and the first time they've come to visit since... 2009? They also brought my kitty home (she's been at their house since Easter)! She got fixed, so she's got a shaved belly that I keep poking. She doesn't seem to mind it, and she's following me around everywhere (more so than usual); I guess she's afraid I'm going to leave her again.
They don't have a GPS, so giving them directions was... interesting. It's really NOT that hard from their house to ours. It's 2 hours... but it's almost a straight shot with only a couple of major exits/turns. We told them when they took the exit for our main 'highway', go 5 miles and then turn on a certain road. They called us, saying they were lost and were sure they missed the turn... they hadn't even gone 1 mile. >shakes my head< On their way home, it was supposed to be even easier! Go up the highway, take the FIRST GIANT GREEN HIGHWAY EXIT SIGN and stay to the right. ...somehow... SOMEHOW... they missed it. They made it home safely, it's just... I have no words except for that I love them. So much. They're so special.
It was a great weekend though, and I really wish they could have stayed longer and/or come more often.
Have a great week everyone!

A Pup-date
Monday, April 8, 2013
It's Monday morning, and I want to apologize for no Sunday Sum-up yesterday. It's been a pretty bleh week, and I haven't really done much of anything.
I wanted to give an update on Snow, since it's been over a week since his injury. He's been in a cone for a week so he doesn't bust his eye open again - and it surprisingly hasn't kept his spirit down. He's a happy boy and I've been doing my best to make sure he's occupied and happy. The ointment the ER vet gave us has worked miracles - his eyes look fantastic.
He went to the vet for a checkup on Saturday morning, and she said he looks great! I can't believe how many people wished for my puppy's rapid recovery, and I can't thank you all enough!
The only way I can think of thanking you for now, is for you to enjoy a little peak at a very happy, sleeping Snow:
Allergies have been busting my butt, so he's been super happy to curl up and sleep with me on the couch all weekend.
Thanks again!

An Injured Pup
Monday, April 1, 2013
If you follow me on Instagram, Vine or Facebook - you'll have heard about Snow's injury. It was definitely one of the most terrifying moments of my life!
We packed up the car and went to Grandma's late Friday night, and we had a CAR FULL!! Not of stuff - but of animals. Shai joined the typical traveling trio (Snow, Gadget and myself) - and she was NOT happy to have joined us. It's a 2 hour car ride and I was not allowed to talk; any noise I made resulted in cries and screams for help. For anyone that knows me, it's kind of hard for me to go THAT long without speaking - Gadget and my family made fun of me for it too.
It was super late when we arrived, and Gadget turned right around and went all the way home. We had a handyman coming and he had a ton of work to do this weekend. That night, I slept on the couch so as to not disturb my great-uncle in one of the beds upstairs. Snow, knowing we were at grandmas, and knowing that means her dogs Sam and Buster are there, wouldn't calm down and go to sleep - so I had very little sleep that night.

Fast forward to Saturday night, Snow and I went upstairs to bed early to get some shut-eye. At 12:30AM, I woke to a thundering sound that sounded like the house was collapsing. I don't remember getting out of bed. I don't remember running over to the steps. I don't remember anything other than the light coming on and seeing my poor Snow sprawled out between the bottom step and the door at the bottom of the stairs. I yelled and rushed down to him and when he saw me, he started coming back up to me. I had to help him back down the stairs since he was shaking so badly.
When I got him downstairs, I had him walk with me to another room to watch him walk. He was walking funny, but not limping. I took that as a very good sign that he probably hadn't broken anything. I talked to him soothed him and he was wagging his tail - so he was in very good spirits. We started back towards the steps and when we went through the kitchen lights is when I really saw it... and I screamed.
His entire face was covered in blood - blood that was not there when I saw him at the bottom of the steps. His eyes were all bloody and I thought for sure he had sliced his eyes and the first thing I thought was that he was going to lose his sight. I started sobbing and tried to contain myself cause I didn't want to scare him and stress him out more. Thank goodness he was responding to hand motions, so I knew he could still see.
I felt helpless! I couldn't do anything other than clean the blood off of him. My great uncle and uncle helped clean him up and then both went to bed. I wanted to take him to the ER! I don't have a drivers license and I almost took one of the cars... until I realized the ER was 40 minutes away. We finally took him - hours later! (which really infuriated me)
So we went to the living room again. I had him rest on grandmas couch, and I stayed with him. I talked to him and I watched him while he slept. Even Shai, who came out from hiding, sat on the arm of the couch and watched him.
So his diagnosis includes a bunch of tiny tiny cuts around his ankles and probably some bruises; a huge gash above his eye and a split eyelid over the other. They didn't give him stitches, but he will need to go back to a vet to check on the healing of his eyelid. He's shaken and battered, but not broken and I'm so unbelievably happy that he's okay. It could have been so much worse!
We're home now, and even with his cone of shame, he's in really good spirits. It's still incredibly terrifying that I came so close to losing him. It's impossible to miss the damage that's left and I hope it heals nicely so it won't be as noticeable. I don't want people thinking that he's been in fights (he is a pit after all) and I don't want his adorable little face being forever scarred.

Friday Favorites : Snow
Friday, February 8, 2013
I'm going to stop Friday Favorites for a while, so I can focus on the rest of the blog. What better way to end it (for a while) than to post some photos of Snow that haven't made it to the blog yet? There were a number of months there in the end of last year where I wasn't posting much - which is sad, cause a lot happened. And there are a lot of great photos of Snow.
The first 5 photos here are from a trip to Grandma's in early September. It's a 2 hour drive there, and there is a McDonalds right before the bay-bridge (which happens to be halfway to grandmas), so we stop there so we can all use the restroom, get a bite to eat if we haven't eaten, and stretch our legs. We park way in the back where the 18 wheelers park, and just let Snow walk around. It's usually pretty empty back there and he won't leave our sides... well, Gadget's side. The last two... you'll find out more about those in a second.
1 - Snow in the car // 2 - Snow sitting pretty while daddy takes a picture // 3 - Relaxing in the middle of the parking lot // 4 - Excited to see me when I came back from getting drinks // 5 - Sitting on Gadget's foot // 6 + 7 - Relaxing after the tire run

Now these photos are from our "tire run." Every one in a while, we chain this tire to his leash and make Snow run up and down the sidewalk by our townhouse a bunch of times. I know a lot of people have misconceptions about pits and whatnot, so I was really nervous that people were thinking we were trying to beef him up for fighting. Not happening. He's just got SOOO much energy, and this is a fantastic way to burn it off.
These are more outtakes than anything, cause his running faces are absolutely hilarious. Numbers 4, 5, 7, 9, and 10 are my favorites. 10 just gets funnier and funner the more you look at it.
If you follow my Instagram or Vine (my username is rewynd), you can see that I love my silly little pup - and he's really popular too. My little camera ham! You can also search instagram for the tag #snowthepitbull - that's all him!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Life : Snapshots of Week 20
Sunday, May 20, 2012
This has been a bizarre week. My work-from-home schedule was all out of whack, we had a ton of things going on in our personal lives, and we've been running around like crazy.
I spent a considerable amount of time in my studio this week, cleaning and organizing. I've made a bit of progress on that - however, I won't meet my May goal of having all the boxes unpacked. I underestimated the number of boxes of books, and I KNOW that I do not have enough book shelf space. For now, they are stacked neatly inside the closet in my studio, hidden away.
Ivy spent most of the week sleeping in the sun in the middle of the floor of the living room - while Shai spent most of her time following me around and yelling at me. My mother-in-law came over to see the new place, so I spent a ton of time cleaning the house and getting as many boxes unpacked/put away as possible. My poor Snow was fixed on Monday, so we weren't able to take him to the dog park this weekend while he heals up.
Saturday was spent at a mall outside of Baltimore where Gadget and his company were showing off the game that I talked about yesterday. On the road, we passed by Andrews AFB where there was apparently an air show going on. I snapped a bunch of pictures of this plane doing loop-de-loops. It was pretty awesome. Come to find out, a friend of mine went and got lots of pictures and video as well.
Being home during daylight is awesome, and I like to go on small little walks around the complex and take pictures of the pretty flowers, and follow around the angry black squirrels. There was also a poor little bird that a neighborhood kitty killed not 10 feet from my front door (there was also a dead duck way out by the dumpsters, but that had been mutilated - probably by a dog).
Here's a collection of random photos from the week:

Busy Busy Weekend
Sunday, April 29, 2012
Yesterday was a crazy, busy day. And we left the camera at home. Basically, we were at a mall from 10AM-5PM where Gadget's company had a table set up showing off their new iPhone/iPad game. I'll talk more about the game later this week.
Thursday, I got an invite in the mail for my brother's wedding shower. He's getting married next month in Jamaica, and I can't afford to go. And since I've only ever seen him 4 or 5 times in my life, I really wanted to be there for him. He apparently had no idea I was going to be there, so that was a nice surprise. Going to the mall turned out to be a good thing, because even though the mall was an hour from our house, it was only 25 minutes from the party.
Today I had to take the bus up the highway to Walgreens and Lowes - so I can fix my desk. I was really hoping we were going to take Snow back to the dog park - which did happen. We didn't stay as long as we did last time. Snow was being a poop-face - he kept trying to hump 1 or 2 of the dogs. Everyone says it's a dominance thing, which I don't think is the case here, cause he's reaching that age... he's about to get fixed too - Sorry pup!

Isn't my hubby adorable? Just don't tell him I used the word "adorable."
It's bed time for me. Good night everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. And hopefully, I will get some art and stuff posted this week.

Off to the Dog Park!
Sunday, April 15, 2012
Since moving to the new place, we have a lot more time to dedicate to Snow and doing more fun things with him. We discovered a dog park VERY close to our house, so this afternoon me and my boys jumped in the car and were off!

Snow of course, had no idea where we were going. Not that he cares. If he's riding in the car with his daddy, he's a happy camper! Snow is a very happy, energetic dog - so it was time to get some of that energy burned off. He's socialized, but not to the extent that we would like. So I was a little nervous, but Gadget assured me that all would be fine.
We got to the dog park which was located behind this old, run-down barn - which was gorgeous! Snow, however, was not phased by the barn. He saw people and got super excited. He's very loving, and wants nothing more than to greet every person he sees.

This dog park was huge! Most of the dogs and owners stayed close to the front gate - and Snow followed one Jack Russel into the pool and sprawled out in the water. White dog + water + dirt = A very happy, dirty dog. He was filthy by the time we left. He met a lot of new friends, and did very well. The gorgeous German Shepherd (his name was Derby) wouldn't leave poor Snow alone. Derby was getting agitated and a bit aggressive and his owner took him and left - not before Snow got a nice big scratch under his eye. Poor pup.

I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to - I got dust and gravel in my eye early on and was fighting a very watery eye. This made it difficult to see through the camera...
But Snow had fun, and that's what counts. It was great to see him so happy - and not causing as much trouble as I was expecting. He was exhausted when we got home, and quickly took a nap. I wish I had my own car so I could take him down there in the afternoons after I get home from work. For now, we'll definitely have to make this a regular weekend trip.
