Fashion Huesday : Summer Scout

Tuesday is here, and just about over already. I can't believe how quickly May is flying by. Today was a telecommute day, spent glued to the computer doing design work and some web code. I've got a LOT of artwork and commissions that I need to get done on the side (which I work on in the evenings and on weekends) by the end of May - which is why my Fashion Huesdays haven't had a lot of sketches recently. This will be my last Fashion Huesday for a while, until I get some other artwork done, and some other types of posts up here on the blog.

Definitely one of the lowest, if not THE lowest Fashion Huesday. When I went to the mall the other day, I discovered LoveCulture. I bought a couple things from there, so quite a few things here are things from their website - and they're pretty inexpensive.

I made myself another yummy strawberry/raspberry/blueberry/blackberry smoothie for breakfast. I was hoping to make French dip sandwiches for dinner, but I don't think the roast is going to defrost in time - that may have to wait until tomorrow.

Happy Huesday! I'm still working on catching up on past Huesday drawings... I'm having a lot of fun with them, I'm glad I decided to do this exercise. With the new tablet (and by tablet, I mean CINTIQ!) at home, it makes life a lot easier! My tablet was broken in the move, and my boss is in the midst of trying to fix the cord. For the meantime, I get to borrow the small Cintiq that we had just sitting around the office.

And there haven't been a whole lot of photos recently cause the camera battery is dead, and we don't have a charger. Fail.

So, today's outfit Total Price: $835.50

I love this dress, but I would never pay $660 for it. I do love that coat, cause if you're a regular reader, you'll know that I love orange! Speaking of orange, how awesome is that ring? And these boots have LONG been on my shoe wishlist. They're on sale... too bad I'm broke.

Happy May everyone! I can't believe it's May already... Time flies! Spring is here, and Coral, Mint/Seafoam, and Ivory is a hugely popular color combo right now. And I love it. I was trying to cut back on the number of items this week. I didn't want it to see over powered by accessories. And I did as promised, and scoured through etsy for pieces.

Honestly, I want to go right to etsy and buy that necklace right now!

This actually started as a 3-parter outfit, and I was going to do 3 complete outfits, but I didn't have time. I will probably finish that in the future. Cause I found some great pieces to include. You'll notice I got away from the dress/cardigan combo. I'll be try to do the same next week too.

Fashion Huesday : Darling Sunset

How can I do a Fashion Huesday without using the Sea.Rewynd.Make color palette?  Orange and Blue is my favorite color combo (if done right).  As usual, this outfit started with a single item (the shoes) and developed into this. 


I can actually see myself wearing something like this.  I'd need something to cover my arms, but I didn't want all of my Fashion Huesdays to be all Dress & Cardigan combos.

Today's total is much lower than previous ones.  The necklace is $225... which is crazy cause I have almost the exact same one from Charming Charlies - and I got it on clearance for $7.

And for today's art piece - obviously kind of rushed...

Fashion Huesday : Nimbus Cheer

Another Fashion Huesday under way! (Heehee, I rhymed.)

This time for one of favorite types of color palettes - lots of neutrals with a pop of one color. And what better color than mustard (which is big right now)? Well, orange is better - I'll save that for next week.

I love these shoes. I want them - but they are so expensive. After the overall price of last weeks outfit, I decided to go as cheap as I could (minus the shoes and the bag). And these stacking rings are absolutely adorable. And that bag! LOVE!

Overall Price: $990.25

Like I mentioned, the bag and the shoes is 90% of this price. All the jewelry is under $15 each - just how I like them.

Welcome to my first Fashion "Huesday" post!

I love playing with color palettes, and putting together outfits is great practice for designing characters (as well as expanding my own wardrobe). This week we have a minty-sea foam green, a deep raspberry and some gold neutrals.

I fell in love with this bag the moment I saw it, and knew that I needed to work an outfit around it. 

Overall price of today's outfit:  $2439.53
(Which is absolutely ridiculous!  Most of the items I picked were well over $100 each.  That necklace is $1100+ by itself.  The dress is the cheapest thing at $59.)
